I'll be with you every step of the way. Depending on what you most need help with, I'll check in via phone or email to keep you on track with your goals, answer grammar and writing questions, provide feedback to keep you headed in the right direction, and edit your work.
The end result: Finally finishing the book the world is waiting for.
Are you just beginning to develop your ideas and struggling with the best way to organize and present your material?
I'll work with you to tease out the most important concepts, figure out the best format and structure for your writing, and provide as little or as much support as you want during the writing process. (In the publishing world this is often called developmental or substantive editing—don't worry, it's much more fun than it sounds!)
The end result: You'll have a well-organized draft that clearly presents your ideas in an engaging way.
Are you pretty happy with what you've written, but need some reassurance that your message is clear and your writing is free of errors before moving forward?
I'll provide the necessary level of copyediting (also called line editing) to maintain your unique voice while ensuring that your writing is concise and engaging. I'll also clean up typos and errors in grammar, syntax, usage, consistency, formatting, and punctuation.
The end result: A well-written final manuscript, free of confusing language and distracting errors. Your writing will sound like you, only better.
Does your content need one final check for embarrassing mistakes before being launched, published, submitted, or printed?
I will proofread your content to make sure it is free of typos and other errors. If needed, I'll also check for problems and inconsistencies in layout such as incorrect page numbering, inconsistent headings, and funky margins.
The end result: Once my corrections are implemented, your content will be as error-free as is humanly possible and ready to publish.
Do you have an extensive archive of blog posts that you've been thinking about turning into a book?
I'll work with you to review and organize some or all of your blog content, then add transitions and other missing text to create a standalone product.
The end result: A draft of a book manuscript, ready to be copyedited and published online or submitted to an agent or publishing house.
